WE SOLVED A PROblem
This is what we do. We experience a problem, and rather than just living with it we figure out how to resolve it.
We are a small company formed out of a need. Back in 2016, we made the same wooden design connected to a shopvac sucking through a langstroth hive body. And it "sort of" worked. When we did not forget one of the many pieces. When the straps did not slip lifting it. When power was not available. If you have used another vacuum system, we do not need to repeat the many, many issues.
So the first thing we did was list all these issues. And looked at each of these issues, finding a solution one problem at a time. No power outs available? Battery powered with several hours of performance. Check. Too many pieces? Integrated design. Check. Getting the bees back into their new home without flying off. Check. The list went on.
In the end, we ran into another problem! What to call it? The name kept growing. "Bad Back Bee Vacuum". Nope. "Cordless Bee Vacuum". Nope. "Battery Powered Backpack Carry Integrated Lightweight High Capacity Upgradable Variable Speed Bee Vacuum". Cough. OK, how do I say this vacuum does everything you can expect out of it? And the name became obvious, "The Everything Bee Vacuum".
We are small scale Beekeepers. We started doing cutouts, and realized how addictive it is doing cutouts! The challenge of trying to extract the colony intact with minimal property damage/disassembly and minimal risk to people and animals keeps the mind busy. We are located in Lockhart, Texas, right in the middle of africanized bee country.
More importantly, we would like to give credit and thanks to all of the experienced beekeepers across the country who practice safe beekeeping and are mentoring the next generations of beekeepers. Always, when starting beekeeping and even more importantly when starting cutouts, work with a local mentor assisting you before trying to do this by yourself. This if for you safety as well as the bees and other people and animals.
